Moving Forward

As many of you may or may not know, Battlefront Paintball will be closing its doors for good after October, barring some miracle last-minute purchase by a wealthy paintball tycoon.  We’ve been proud to call the field owner a good friend of ours for the last 5 years when we started doing games for them in 2008.  While it’s heartbreaking that such an amazing field is shutting down, we certainly wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavors.

What does this mean for .68 Caliber?  Well, to be honest, we’re not sure yet.  Like many of you, we’ve been very spoiled by the quality field that Battlefront offered.  Truthfully, designing games for them was a joy because of the many options that we had for creating missions.  The field offered everything from urban to woodsball, creeks, hillsides, fields and hyberball areas.  It’s a tough act to follow.

With that being said, we’re definitely interested in scouting some new fields in the area for possible future scenarios.  If nothing else, we’d like to find a new home for our Day of Days game that was regularly drawing 300+ players to Battlefront.  If you play or own a decently-sized paintball field in the north-east Ohio/western Pennsylvania area and think it might be a good location for some scenario ball, please drop us a line and let us know.  You can either reply to this post here, or drop us a message on our Facebook page.

Battlefront will be hosting a final scenario on October 13th, produced by the ARC Troopers.  If you’ve been a fan of this field, we highly encourage you to attend this game and wish Dave all the best.

Hate to see a class act field going away from the sport. But I had great times on the field there. Sorry to see you go Battlefield!

What actually happened? I realize it is old news now, but I never heard an explanation. Email me? ACTactical@msn.com
